Holiday starts

We started decorating the house with Christmas decors last week, the tree was arranged and decorated with holiday stuffs and our miniature  Belen or the Nativity was also set-up.  I love miniature things that’s why it is also tiny. :)   I remember when I was small we also had a Nativity that my father used to put up every year in time for the Christmas season, this was complete with sands, small trees and a big star, mine is not that fancy though but I tried to, lol.

The Nativity is to remind us Christians why we celebrate Christmas. When the holiday season became so commercialized and we tend to forget the real reason behind the celebration which is to commemorate the birth of JESUS CHRIST – Our Savior. Advanced Blessed Christmas everyone!

Be Optimistic

When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us. – Helen Keller

This usually happens when we dwell too much on the heartaches and sad events we have experienced in life that sometimes we forgot that there is always hope when tomorrow comes.

Like when a person lost a job, maybe there are better opportunities in the offing for him or her than the last one. Or was ditched by a lover, who knows someone more loving and faithful is just around the corner waiting for a chance to be with you. As Ms. Keller said, open our eyes and mind, always think of the good possibilities, be OPTIMISTIC and think  POSITIVE. :)

Children of Poverty

It is frustrating to see families living below poverty line, the parents have low-paying job or no job at all and children  living in an unlivable environment, small children roaming the streets playing with death by crisscrossing roads defying traffic hazards just to beg for money to buy food to all vehicles stopping at red traffic lights.

What will you feel if you  see couples with 8 or 10 children living in very small cramped houses in depressed areas?  Sometimes it’s very depressing if you will see the children and think of their welfare, but why are these parents can still have that much children if they were not able to support or feed them, much more send them to school? What could be the future of these children? Do these parents think only of instant self-gratification or just ignorant to the fact that if you have sex there will always be the chance of having another baby. Or they didn’t know there are ways to control pregnancy or a thing called family planning?

These  come to mind when a religious sector is very much against the government’s distribution of family planning paraphernalia or teaching people the way to prevent unwanted pregnancies.  Of course there are pros and cons about this being a serious matter. The religious sector wants only the natural way and opposed the scientific/artificial method of birth control in which the government is using to educate the people by distributing free condoms, pills, injectibles and other contraceptives to control the growing population, their way to lessen if not totally eradicate poverty. (Creating jobs is another alternative, but that’s another topic.)

This is a never-ending battle/debate and the cycle will just go on and on. Poverty and ignorance will always be a part of this cycle and it’s the children who will always be caught in the middle. Not counting the woman’s health who are always at risk when giving birth to a child.

Personally, if I were to choose, I will always go with the natural method, but if this doesn’t work for me, I will keep an open mind to using the artificial means because I know my limitation. I don’t want to have so many children if I cannot afford to give them a good life, good education and a better future. I don’t want my children to suffer because somebody dictates me.  It is always our choice to do what we feel is best for us. Just think of the children’s well-being and you won’t go wrong.
