Rain Rain Go Away

It’s been raining hard this past two days not counting the occasional rain showers early this week. It was unexpected to rain this much as the weather bureau reported that the typhoon will not land fall here in Metro Manila. But as of yesterday it was bringing too much rain that some areas were already submerged in floods especially those in lower part.  I woke up at 4:30 this morning and watched the news to know if school is suspended due to bad weather condition and it was as expected.

Strong winds accompanied by heavy rains, even our terrace wasn’t spared. Rainwater got in and the floor was all wet. The weather is cold and fortunately we didn’t experience any brown-outs which is quite common during this season. I felt sorry for those badly affected by the storm, some were forced to evacuate their homes to get to safer places. The havoc that the 2009 deadly typhoon “Ondoy” is still fresh to people’s mind and they are more alert and listen to any warnings given by the local authorities.

Save On Battery

This is what I need a rechargeable aaa batteries, besides being very expensive, the disposable batteries  also contribute to the ballooning waste disposed on earth and to the environment. I stopped using my former digital camera as it was powered by batteries. It was only later that I found out that I can use a rechargeable battery, and I won’t need to buy new ones every time the battery life expired which was an added burden to my pocket. My wall clock is also battery-powered and so is my massage pillow. With rechargeable batteries, I can save 100% on power expenses.

No Fish For Now

Because of the wide-spread fish kill in the provinces of Batangas and Pangasinan where tons of  dead fishes float on the surface due to sudden change of temperature resulting to lack of oxygen in the water, there were some unscrupulous people who still bring the dead fishes here in the city and sold at some wet markets.  And also there were greedy fish vendors who mixed the dead fishes to the fresh ones and sold to unsuspecting consumers. Authorities strengthen their watch on this kind of illegal activities and already caught many of them, the end result is consumers stayed away from eating fish thus even those legitimate vendors were also affected as their business took a plunge. The scheme already reached the wet market near our area, so we decided to avoid eating fishes for the time being and wait until everything went back to normal.
