Tuition Increase
My goodness! The school hasn’t end yet and there’s already some news about tuition fee increase in universities and colleges this coming semester. And no other than the Commission on Higher Education Department announced that the possible increase will be on the 8-9%. They said parents and students have no choice but to comply, since these colleges and universities are private schools and the government has no control over it if they want to increase or not the tuition fees. If this raise pertains to all college students, don’t be surprise if those on the primary and secondary level will have their fair share of tuition fee increases too.
To all students, please study hard and think of the sacrifices your parents are doing to ensure you get the best education ever for this will equipped you to finding jobs in the near future. You can see how difficult it is to send children to school and yet there are students who chose to cut classes just to be with friends or for some gimmicks rather than being serious with their studies. You can fulfill your parents’ dreams and yours too by being determined with your study and offer this to your parents as reward to their sacrifices.
Pacquiao Meets US Pres. Obama
Finally 8-Divisions Boxing Champion Manny Pacquiao met US Pres. Obama today. He was invited by the US president at the White House, he visited the president accompanied by his wife Jinkee. The meeting was short but very significant. Not everybody is given this kind of privilege. Even Pres. Aquino lauded the meeting, saying it is a recognition of the Filipino talent.
Media was not allowed to cover the meeting, even the organizers and members of the Team Pacquiao. Report said that President Obama shook Manny’s hands and told him that he is a fan of the boxing champ. They posed for photos and the couple were given souvenirs and a box of M&M chocolates with US Presidential seal.
Pacquaio is promoting his Pacquiao- Mosley fight to be held on May 7, 2011 at US.
First Filipina Ford Supermodel of the World Winner
Another inspiring news for the Philippines, where a 17-year old lass and a student of Fine Arts in University of the Philippines, won the most coveted award in the modeling world, the Ford Supermodel of the World. Her name is Danica Flores Magpantay daughter of former Ford Supermodel of the World-Phil. in the 80′s, Lala Flores.
The international modeling contest was joined by beautiful models from more than 50 different countries and held at New York, USA. The Ford Supermodel of the World was founded by Eileen Ford in the 80′s and was called “Face of the 80′s ” then.
She maybe plain-looking and not a mestiza-type, but to the judges she is an exotic beauty which made her stand above the rest. If you will notice almost all of our winning beauty queens from international beauty contest are all in this category. Very rare if there are, that is mestiza-looking.
